OIC Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Mogadishu

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist car-bombings in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Saturday 14 October 2017, which killed 23 persons and wounded scores of innocent civilians.

OIC Secretary General, Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, expressed serious displeasure at these wanton terrorist attacks which primarily seek to derail the positive steps accomplished in the area of security and stability in Somalia. He also expressed his deep sympathy to the Government of Somalia, commiserated with the families of the victims, and wished the injured quick recovery. The Secretary General affirmed the OIC’s full support for the Government of Somalia in its ongoing efforts to achieve stability, peace and development in the country in the interest of the Somali people and for the sake of, peace in the region, and for harnessing all its potentials to achieve this noble objective.
