OIC Condemns Car Bomb Attack on a Market in Mogadishu

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the car bomb attack on 26 November 2016, targeting a market in Mogadishu, which resulted in the death of at least eleven innocent people and injuring dozens others.

The Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al Othaimeen, in denouncing the perpetrators of this heinous crime as the enemies of peace who seek to undermine the electoral process underway in Somalia, offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the Government and people of Somalia on the tragic incident. He also wished early recovery to the injured.

Dr. Al Othaimeen restated the principled position of the OIC against all forms of terrorism and extremism and reaffirmed the continuing solidarity of the OIC with Somalia. He urged the authorities to remain steadfast in combating extremism and terrorism which run counter to the noble values of Islam.
