The OIC Conducts its Third Ramadan Campaign in the Central African Republic

Date: 12/07/2016

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has conducted for the third year in a row its humanitarian campaign in the Central African Republic (CAR) during the last week of the Holy Month of Ramadan in cooperation with the OIC Humanitarian Funds that is headquartered in Doha, State of Qatar.

This year’s Ramadan campaign reached 50,000 people in the capital Bangui and its surrounding districts and also in the provincial town of Bambari where food and nonfood items were distributed to those in need and the most vulnerable people in this area.

The OIC would like to seize this opportunity to express its gratitude to EidCharity, RAF (Mercy to Grace) and Al Dawa Al Islamiya Organization - the Non-Governmental Organisations which joined the OIC Humanitarian Funds to make this campaign a success. The OIC reiterates its call to all OIC Member States, NGOs and humanitarian stakeholders to extend their much needed humanitarian assistance to the Central African Republic and to its vulnerable and needy people, both in urban and rural areas who have been seriously affected for several years due to a very serious humanitarian and developmental calamity, which has been aggravated by years of political crisis.
