OIC strongly condemns the terrorist bombing in Quetta, Pakistan

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist bombing in the city of Quetta, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan that specifically hit near a polio vaccination center. At least 15 people died and another 24 were wounded. The Secretary General of the OIC Iyad AmeenMadani extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to all those injured as a result of this criminal act which targeted innocent citizens. Mr.Madani stressed that such acts are totally inconsistent with all human principles and noble values of Islam. He expressed the deep concern of the OIC on the impact of the increasing number of terrorist acts in the member States and in many other countries. He called for concerted efforts and further coordination and collaboration at the regional and international levels to maintain international peace and security. Mr.Madani reaffirmed the OIC position rejecting all forms of terrorism which has become a threat to the stability of the member States and undermine their development efforts. He reconfirmed that this reality requires international solidarity in the fight against the scourge of terrorism and to work together on reducing its causes in order to ensure peace and security for all the nations in the world.
