OIC condemns terrorist attacks in Nigeria

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has strongly condemned the terrorist suicide bomb attacks on 17 and 18 November 2015 in the northern Nigerian cities of Yola and Kano respectively in which fifty persons were killed and one hundred and twenty three others injured. The Secretary General, Mr Iyad Ameen Madani described the attacks, attributed to the Boko Haram terrorist group, which continues to use teenage suicide bombers including girls, to target markets and other public places, as an extremist act. He called for an end to such heinous acts of brutality against innocent people which negate every human principle and reaffirmed the OIC's full solidarity with Nigeria in her renewed efforts to degrade and defeat the violent group. He stressed that we need to confront the multifaceted dimensions of the phenomenon of Boko Haram. The Secretary General finally conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences to the government and people Nigeria as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
