The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, has strongly condemned the suicide bombing attacks that targeted worshippers who are in a procession marking Ashoura festivities in the city of Jacobabad, north of Karachi, Pakistan, on Friday, 23rd October 2015 leading to the death of at least 20 people and injuring scores of others. The Secretary General extends his condolences to the government and people of Pakistan as well as to the families of the victims over this tragedy and stated the support of the OIC to the efforts of the government of Republic of Pakistan in its efforts of fighting terrorism. He further reiterated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces any and all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all forms and manifestations, just as it categorically rejects any justifications for terrorism.
