The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, has on 21st October 2015 received in audience Mr. Ountana Mansa, Ambassador of the Republic of Burkina Faso to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who visited him in his office at the OIC General Secretariat, Jeddah. Ambassador Ountana briefed the Secretary General on the progress made in the implementation of the Transition in Burkina Faso, and the general situation in the country after the unfortunate coup attempt by a section of the military against the Transitional Government of Burkina Faso. He stated that the situation in the country has returned to normal and the transitional process is on course. He assured that the presidential election will now be held on 29th November 2015. The Secretary General on his part expressed the full support and solidarity of the OIC to the transitional process in Burkina Faso and appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate in the successful conclusion of the transition.
