The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the terrorist bomb attacks on 10 and 11 October 2015 in Chad and Cameroun in which fifty one persons were killed and seventy seven others injured. The OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani described the attacks, attributed to the Boko Haram terrorist group in which teenage suicide bombers including girls were used to target markets in Baga Sola in Chad and Mora in neighboring Cameroun, as savage and cowardly. He called for an end to such acts of brutality which run counter to every human principle and reaffirmed OIC's full solidarity with the two Member States in their continuing efforts to combat the menace of the extremist group. He also urged countries in the Lake Chad region to activate as a matter of urgency the established Multinational Joint Task Force to coordinate their counter terrorism endeavors. The Secretary General finally conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences to the governments and people of Chad and Cameroun as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
