OIC condemns terrorist attacks in Ankara, Turkey

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the two terrorist blasts that took place today 10 October 2015 in Turkey's capital Ankara, causing the death of at least 86 people and injuring around 200 others . The Secretary General of the OIC, Iyad Ameen Madani, described the attacks as savage and cowardly. He called for an end to such acts of brutality which run counter to every human principle; and reaffirmed OIC's support and full solidarity with Turkey in its efforts to combat terrorism The Secretary General expressed his deep sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Turkey , as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of the wounded. While reiterating the OIC's principled position on condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, Madani stressed that the OIC would continue its genuine cooperation with the international community to fight terrorism and its root causes and face up to this most serious threat to international peace and security.
