The OIC workshop on enhancing the capacity of national institutions concerned with promoting women status and empowerment in OIC Member States kicked off at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah. It is held on 17 and 18 December 2017.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, on 10 December 2017 commended an official visit to the Republic of Iraq, where he met Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari. The two parties discussed prospects for greater bilateral cooperation.
