The Secretary General of the organization of Islamic Cooperation Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani has expressed grave concern about latest development of the peace process in the Southern Philippines, and about the difficulties facing the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) in the Philippines parliament, particularly the substantial amendments to the BBL which constitute drastic modification to the original agreement. These amendments restore the National Government control over many areas and they actually reduce the Bangsamoro Government to an entity similar to an ordinary local government unit....

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the agreement by the delegations of the House of Representatives and the General National Congress in Libya on principles to end the conflict in Libya which was signed in Tunisia on 6 December 2015. The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, appealed to all the Libyan parties to adopt this agreement which forms a basis for a political solution of Libyan crisis and for the commencement of the process of building constitutional institutions for the Libyan state on the basis of democracy, justice and equality and for warding off the dangers of terrorism which threatens the unity, security and stability of Libya. Madani renewed the readiness of the OIC to contribute to the international and regional efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Libyan people and responding to their aspirations for reconciliation and security within a united nation.

The First Expert Meeting of the OIC Network on Population and Reproductive, Maternal, New-born and Child Health (OIC MHNet) was held in Ankara, Turkey, on 2-4 December 2015. In line with the decision of the Fourth Islamic Conference of Health Ministers held in Jakarta, Indonesia in October 2013, the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and UNFPA Arab States Regional Office launched the meeting at SESRIC Headquarters in Ankara. The meeting is participated by a group of interdisciplinary experts in this area from OIC region who engage in collective efforts to share information and knowledge in an endeavor to improve OIC MHNet....
