The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, congratulated the people of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the success of the parliamentary and Municipal Councils' elections held on 21 December 2014.
Madani noted that an elections monitoring delegation from the OIC observed the elections in Uzbekistan. The members of the delegation undertook extensive field visits to over 100 polling stations and monitored all stages of the vote.
