The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, received the construction permission for the new OIC headquarters in Jeddah, KSA. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu had received Dr. Hani bin Muhammad Abu Rass, the Mayor of Jeddah, at his office on Wednesday 7/11/2012. During the meeting, the construction permission for the new OIC headquarters in Khuzam Gardens and Palaces in Jeddah city with a total area of 91.500 square meters was handed over. The building will include a be cone-shaped tower and a conference palace for meetings of the OIC and its subsidiary organs, in addition to a garden surrounding the building....

Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, on 5 November 2012, in Cairo, met with the Vice President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr Mahmoud Makki, and briefed him on the various activities of the OIC at various levels. The Secretary General also reviewed the ongoing projects and stages of the OIC’s development. For his part, the Vice President expressed his deep appreciation for the Secretary General’s efforts, citing in particular the huge progress the OIC has witnessed and the role it has played in recent years. The two sides discussed the ongoing arrangements for holding the 12th session of the Islamic Summit Conference in Egypt. They also discussed issues relating to Muslim minorities in Myanmar and other non-OIC Member States as well as the issue of Islamophobia which is of concern to the OIC. The meeting also discussed the pivotal role being played by Egypt in the post-revolution period and means of enhancing cooperation between the two sides with a view to restoring Egypt’s leading role in supporting joint Islamic action....

Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, OIC Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met with Egyptian Foreign Minister, Mohamad Kamel Amru, at the Foreign Ministry in Cairo today Sunday 4th November, 2012. The two parties discussed the bilateral relations between the OIC and the Arab Republic of Egypt as well as a number of regional issues, foremost of which the situation in Syria.
