Referring to the hand-drawn picture depicting the Prophet Mohamed, used by the Danish People Party as an electoral campaign material, the OIC observatory on Islamophobia, issued a statement in Jeddah, in which it denounced this action, qualifying it as irresponsable especially as it is emanating from a political party, with the sole aim of inflaming hatred against a sector of the citizens of Denmark. The OIC Secretary General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs His Excellency Mr. Ali Babacan at his office on October 21 2007. The Turkish Minister paid a courtesy visit to the OIC Headquarters in Jeddah during the course of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
