The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation presents its compliments to the Permanent Missions/Embassies/Consulate Generals of the Member States in Jeddah/Riyadh and has the honour to state that the University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Malaysia, has announced ten (10) postgraduate scholarships to qualified students from the OIC Member States to pursue their post-graduate studies by research (5 for Masters and 5 for PhD) in UniKL. The scholarships are being offered under the OIC General Secretariat’s ‘Educational Exchange Programme: Solidarity through Academia in the Muslim World’ (details at HYPERLINK "http://www.oic-oci.org" www.oic-oci.org).

The scholarships involve a) Tuition fee waiver and b) Graduate assistantship in the form of a monthly stipend of RM 1,100 and RM 1,300 for Master and PhD, respectively. The maximum duration of the Graduate assistantships are 18 months for studies at the master’s level and 36 months at the PhD level.

The minimum entry requirement into the Masters programme is a degree in a relevant area with a CGPA of 3.5. At the PhD level, the applicant must have a Master’s degree and have published 1 paper in any ISI-indexed journal.

All applications must reach the UniKL and the OIC general Secretariat before 15 Aug 2012.

Selection of successful candidates will be done by UniKL after obtaining recommendation from the OIC General Secretariat. Successful candidates will be notified by the General Secretariat. The decision of the selection committee will be final and appeals will not be entertained
