The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, today, 2nd January 2010, received at the General Secretariat the Ambassador of Eritrea to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , HE. Mohamed Omer Mahmoud who briefed the Secretary General on the situation in his country and the latest developments in the Horn of Africa

Prof Ihsanoglu on his part stressed the need for peace and stability in the region and conveyed the preparedness of the OIC to contribute to the peaceful resolutions of conflicts in accordance with its new mandate, mission and vision

The two sides also reviewed the possibility of developing bilateral ties between them.
