The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, congratulated the President of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Fuad Masum, and Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, on the recapture of the northern city of Tal Afar from Daesh terrorist organization, affirming the OIC’s support for the efforts of the Iraqi government in fighting terror organizations and combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Al-Othaimeen reaffirmed the OIC’s support for the Iraqi government in its endeavors to liberate the Iraqi cities from the control of Daesh and lay the foundations of peace and security all across the country.
The Secretary General emphasized the need to fully commit to Iraq’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, highlighting the OIC’s resolve to continue to coordinate with the Iraqi government towards holding Baghdad national reconciliation conference (Makkah 2) out of its keenness to achieve peace and stability in Iraq.
