OIC Condemns Baghdad Bomb Blast

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist explosion that occurred in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, killing a large number of innocent citizens and wounding many others.

The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen,expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a quick recovery. Al-Othaimeen emphasized that these terrorist acts against innocent citizens in Ramadan run counter to the teachings of the tolerant religion of Islam, all divine religions as well as humanitarian and moral principles.

The Secretary General urged the Iraqi government and people, including politicians across the political spectrum to counter all forms and manifestations of terrorism that seek to cause discord among the countries sects. He emphasized the OIC’s commitment to continued coordination with the Iraqi government to convene the Makkah 2 conference as part of ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq.Yes
