The Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its profound satisfaction at the success of the presidential election in the Islamic Republic of The Gambia, which took place in accordance with the internationally recognized standards for fair elections in an atmosphere of democracy and transparency, popular participation and peaceful manner.
Dr. Yousef Ahmed Al Othaimeen, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation offered his congratulations to the elected President Mr.Adma Barrow and the Gambian people that has proven through an intensive participation in these elections, its attachment to peaceful rotation of power within the framework of the constitutional institutions of the country.
It is worth noting that OIC General Secretariat participated in the observation the presidential election in the Islamic Republic of The Gambia, which took place on December 1st, 2016.
