The 33rd Session of the OIC Ministerial Meeting in Figures

 The OIC Ministerial Meeting held in Baku was attended by:

  • 33 Deputy Prime Ministers or Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
  • 15 Deputy Minister or Secretary General of Ministries
  • The remaining countries participated at the level Senior Diplomats

 

-          Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and Thailand participated in the Meeting as invitees by the Chairman of the Conference.

-          The Federation of Russia participated for the first time as an Observer Member and was represented by its Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

-          43 Representatives of Regional and International Organizations participated in the Ministerial Conference.

-          Heads of Affiliate and Specialized Organizations of the OIC participated in the Ministerial Conference.

-          The Secretary General of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Vice President of the Counsel of Europe, the Director General of the International Organization of Migration, and the Assistant Secretary General of the UNESCO attended the Ministerial Conference as Invited Guests.

-          120 resolutions were adopted by the Conference.

-          Approval of 10% increase in the budget of the General Secretariat of the Organization to be allocated for programmes and in particular to implement the Ten-Year Programme of Action.

-          To expedite opening of an Office for the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Brussels, the capital of the European Union.

-          Adoption of the proposal by the Contact Group on Somalia to open an office for the Organization of the Islamic Conference in this country.
